A Culinary Journey Awaits: Chef Gabriel Ossard Krauss at 1864 Limited Edition

Continuing a series of events organized by Galle Face Hotel to promote fine dining international cuisine within Colombo, Mastercard and 1864 Limited Edition proudly present “The Travelling French Chef.” From the 26th to the 28th of July, guests in Colombo will have the unique opportunity to experience an unparalleled evening of international fine dining at 1864 Limited Edition, the hotel’s contemporary European restaurant. 

Chef Gabriel Ossard Krauss, a young yet distinguished figure in the culinary world, brings his expertise to this exclusive event. With a career that began at Le Gavroche** in London, Gabriel has honed his skills under the mentorship of legendary chefs and in Michelin-starred establishments. His journey through France and Japan has deeply influenced his culinary philosophy, blending French haute cuisine with international flavours.

Chef Gabriel’s culinary vision was profoundly transformed under Chef Philippe Mille at Domaine les Crayères, and he showcased his talents in Michelin-starred restaurants in Japan, such as Kyo Ryori Takagi and Kikunoi Honten. Upon returning to France, he continued to excel at prestigious venues like Pré Catelan and Cheval Blanc in Paris. Chef Gabriel will also be coordinating with Galle Face Hotel’s own Culinary Director, Chef Rukmal (Rukie) Samarasekera, to create a harmonious blend of their culinary expertise, further enhancing the dining experience.
